Our primary function for this site is simple. We endeavor to provide the biblical and the technical assistance to those who seek to follow the command to keep the annual appointed times of meeting with God.
As part of this function in the body of Christ we travel to Israel just prior to the end of the biblical 12th month (lunar) to inspect the development of the volunteer (wild or self seeding) barley crops growing there. The state of maturity of the barley crop will determine whether a new year is to begin or if a 13th lunar month will be added to allow the crop to mature so the 7 week harvest to Pentecost can begin on the first Sunday during the days of Unleavened Bread. That is the day of the wavesheaf and no early harvest can take place until that time and event arrives in the biblical year. The spiritual significance is made very clear in the studies found on this site.
Many ask why is Israel our focus for such things. Why not use the "tools" we have in our own locations to make such determinations?
Our Creator tells us that He and he alone determines when the year begins and ends and when His wavesheaf will be ready. He determines the rate of maturity of the volunteer crop by the amount of rain and temperatures (meteorological conditions) He administers to its growing area. Thus He determines year by year which lunar month will start and end the year, which then determines what the timing will be for our times of meeting with Him as commanded in Leviticus 23.
Deuteronomy 11: 10-14, "For the land which you go to possess is not like the land of Egypt from which you have come, where you sowed your seed and watered it by foot, as a vegetable garden; but the land which you cross over to possess is a land of hills and valleys, which drinks water from the rain of heaven, a land for which the Lord (Yehovah) your God cares; the eyes of the Lord (Yehovah) your God are always on it, from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year. And it shall be that you diligently (carefully) listen to (obey) My commandments which I command you today, to love the Lord (Yehovah) your God and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul, then I will give you the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil."
Yes, God controls all the elements in the physical location of Israel to proclaim His appointed times of meeting with Him, which we refer to as festivals or annual holy days. These are annual rehearsals of major events or milestones in the plan of salvation for all of mankind. They are to be kept on the exact day that God declares biblically not by the maneuverings or manipulations of men.
