Hi Folks,
We hope your work week is going well.
Gisela made here annual trip to the Re'im Junction area and others today. She sent over some photos and states it will be ready next month for sure, but not now.
She also said lots of short immature wheat being cut at this time. Of course that is silage for the dairy industry in that area. As we stated a couple weeks back they will do their best to salvage what they can from some of the fields which would not make it to maturity due to stress from the lack of rain in the earlier growth stages.
Gisela has to take a bus to these locations as she does not drive and lives in the South many miles from the NW Negev. Keep in mind this is a short walk from the massacres by Hamas that took place there. Both north and south of it.
The intense heat of the past week in the area is pushing the grain ahead full speed. In the last photo you can see what that kind of stress does to the wild barley in sandy soils. Notice the patchwork of dead and alive plants.
Thank you once again Sis! Maybe we can make next year happen even though it will be a normal 12 month one. Linda says Yes!
Our peace we give to you.
