Sabbath April 18, 2026: Day 14

Good morning faithful Brethren and Happy Sabbath,

So much to be thankful for. We hope your walk and count to Pentecost is being blessed even as the world around us is growing darker.

The heat has abated for the time being in Jerusalem but it will be returning in a few days. For now very pleasant temperature. As the heat exited it pulled in more dust for a day or two. The Golan had a hail event yesterday which was intense at times. Other than that its a beautiful transition taking place.

For those of you who like seeing the different tares growing in the Land I have a great picture from this week for you. Notice you can see imposter 2 row barley and 6 row barley (or wheat for that matter) fakes. There are lots of folks who would be fooled by them.

Flowers and aviv is being asked about. That is very important as some of you already know. The prelude to the traditionally early grain fields are the red anemones. They will transition into the start of the Month of the Abib.

We then have the purple Thermos (local name) which starts its witness around the start of the first month and up through it.

Then we have chrysanthemums prior to the middle of the first month and up through the harvest.

But the crown jewel for identifying the first month and the harvest underway are the Poppies. Poppies and aviv go hand in hand as some know.

So here are 5 example photos from the week of that for the record.

Then an assortment of photos from around the country declaring the time of the harvest and its progression of both domestic barley and wheat. If you look closely you can still see a few samples of wild barley still standing amongst the domestic grains but for the most part it has fallen as is its practice when growing in good ground. Once it passes 8.3 on Zadoks scale it shatters easily as is its design from above.

Vineyards are doing well in all regions.

Even the late figs are now entering the fray so to speak.

And yes, the swifts are all over the skies these days as well as nesting at the old temple wall.

Our peace we give to you!
