We are hoping the day is dawning as a blessing to you if it has not done so already.
Today we will focus on the 3 major grain growing regions in the Land.
Lets start with some familiar areas in the Center. I couldn't pass up the rainbow one but notice the grain in the lower section of it. Just down the road from there is this familiar location. Notice in this close up how stressed the grain is. See all the brown? That is the plant in survival mode. Who can tell us what dies first?
I know some of you already shouted it out. Yes, tillers die first, not the stalk. The only time the stalk takes second position to a tiller, is when the main shoot is damaged by an animal eating it, etc.
The good news is this location has gotten ample rain in the past 24 hours to get it back into a steady growth cycle for the time being.
While on the subject of stressed grain lets jump to the NW Negev for 2 photos. This is a wheat field that was planted in November/December. You have seen it before in this cycle. This is what happens when grain, be it wheat or barley, goes into survival mode due to stress of having insufficient water. Notice the stumpy little stocks with heads protruding out of the boot. No those are not florets from flowering. Who knows what is taking place here?
Once again to some of you yes which the next picture demonstrates up close. How many of you have ever eaten sprouts? That's right the entire process is sped up under stress and the rains they got here last week pushed the process rapidly forward.
What a mess.
This is what is called blemished grain and could not be used in any way, shape, or form for a Most Holy Grain Offering. Lots of the early fields of grain in the South will be overcome by this condition this cycle if not worst. At least this one can be cut for silage.
A lot of barley will suffer the same fate there as well.
But for the grain which was planted later and actually benefited from the off and on rains there this past month it is responding for the moment. But the rains must keep coming for them to reach the state of aviv, but that will not happen for 5-6 weeks at best. The next 3 pictures speak to that.
Of course no barley in this later growth rate in the Abib Growing Cycle would qualify for the First of the Firstfruit grain offering unless you somehow believe they hold them all until the end of the harvest which is what the error of Cain was and still is.
A quick look at the Upper Jordan Valley shows it is as young and green as we have seen in the past. We put in one photo next here which is representative of it.
Then a good witness to the recent rains. Most of the time that would not be a welcomed sight but this years growing cycle welcomes it openly.
