Good morning Folks,
This is a busy time of the Abib Growing Cycle as so many of the transitioning witnesses are showing up all over the Land.
Some areas are getting rain today, mostly confined to the coast north of the Negev. Once again tomorrow we will enter a warming trend for a good spell.
The wild almonds are starting to show their colors in the countryside at various elevations. There have been years where they make some of the hillsides look white around the end of February. We wish you could all have a chance to hike among them and watch all the honey bees doing their part in propagating the next generation.
We will start with some photos of them.
We also have a sneak preview of the purple Thermos' which will dominate the landscape in many areas also by the end of the month of February. This is for the newer folks so they can see ahead in this process.
And lets not forget the anemones starting to take over the landscape now.
Lets finish up with Marina showing us the first head of wheat from her irrigated crop. Again remember the rules associated with such. However, it is a good illustration for newer folks. This head looks very healthy does it not. It also looks very full to someone who is not experienced in the growing process. This head had what looks like big plump and full seed sacks. The truth is they are absolutely empty. That is what heads look like during the head emergence stage of Zadoks Scale. If you are not aware of that spend some time on it using information from our website or past inspections, or simply go on line to an independent video designed to instruct young farmers in the growing stages of grain. That can be a very valuable endevour.
Lots of posts in the near future about this stage of the growing season.
Our peace we give to you.
