Good Morning Folks!
Some of you guys are doing a really good job following the signs in creation in the Land this Abib Calendar growing cycle. Its always a good thing to see those called by Father and chosen by Christ fulfilling the requirement to enter into an intimate relationship with our Husband to be.
We have been seeing a lot of goat grass (unacceptable wild barley) in the head this week. Lots of it. Some of you have been witnessing to the same as well. We have several photos, one from the Center and one from the South of the country as examples.
Thus I decided to put up a short post on what that means and why that is happening for the folks who are new to this effort prescribed in scripture as to the Biblical Calendar.
Goat grass is a term we use to describe wild barley which is unacceptable to use for a wavesheaf offering of the First of the Firstfruits. It grows in primarily rocky ground but at times in very sandy soils as well. Such locations can be found all around the country of Israel. They are areas which are not plowed, turned, and prepared for the planting of grain which is just one of the criteria that rejects them for our uses in the Abib Calendar determination for the start of the new year.
So, here we are a few days away from the start of the 12th Biblical Month and we have wild barley in the head. Lots of it in 2/3 of the Land. That puts us in the 11th month as of today. For those who use such unacceptable and anemic barley, all of these locations and many more, will have dried out seeds before the middle of the next month, the 12th month. February 9-10 for sure.
I guess you should be asking them why are the proclaimers of such false witnesses in creation complaining about the lack of rain in their area and the infancy of the goat grass there. Maybe they should climb down off their seat of cash donations and slither out and do some real looking.
As many of you guys know we have shown examples of these locations of goat grass growing in the head 1-2 months before any acceptable barley locations are ready for many years now, just to keep the record straight.
Their life cycle is always short just as the parable of the sower instructs us. They are in bad agricultural soils which drain water very quickly. If the rains are not sustained they are forced to put all their energy into producing heads with seed while denying the growth of the rest of the plant. This is a pattern in nature. The plant wants to make sure it can reproduce itself and thus its primary focus is insuring some of the seeds make it to a point of physiological maturity ensuring a future life cycle.
Conditions in many growing areas have met that criteria of, on and off again rains intermittently. The reason we get to see so much of this in daily photos from the Land is because many outdoor folks there are looking to get pictures of the early wild almonds blooming. We have 3 photos for you to look at here of them as well.
But for the goat grass examples first.
In picture #1 you can see a nice band of goat grass growing across the lower section of the photo. It is well into the head and you can get a closer look if you zoom in. The heads on the right are taller than those on the left. Of course it is surrounded by some of the local weed species you have come accustomed to seeing in such non agricultural areas over the years. Take note there are no wild oats in this location, just unacceptable wild barley. Who knows why?
It is growing on a slight rise in the grounds surface which is also customarily attributed to stone mixed with some dirt soils. Perfect conditions for goat grass. Notice the domestic field in the distance further down the hillside in an area that can be plowed and seeded based on Biblical standard found in Isaiah and elsewhere.
Then I included a photo #2 from the South to show what happens in sandy soils which rise above the rest of the ground. Take a look at the right side of the dirt road. Some of the goat grass here is already dying off quickly. This area did receive some early rains in November but not well sustained. As a result a rapid growth cycle commenced to insure some seed would mature for another years life cycle. This sandy bank is a common sight in the South and many areas of the Shfela as well. Once again some of you guys have witnesses this during our inspection trips to the Land.
Unfortunately there are some in the Land who use such locations to declare a premature new year. We do not. If you follow the posts of one who does you should start asking the questions as to why they have not been posting the wild barley in the head and maturing quickly when they profess to be informing you about it across the country, eh!
There are photos being taken of goat grass daily from many locations and being made available by lots of Land based photographers. Most are there because they are in the frame of the photo of a different subject matter. Thus you have an unbiased and no agenda witness to what you have been conditioned to use as your start to the new year. Maybe you should be starting it on January 31 this year? It would be ready by the 14th of the next month.
Imagine that.
