Can any of you old timers ever remember such a sustained early rain season as intense as this one this Abib Growing Cycle? Remember according to many we are supposed to be in a sustained drought until after the first of the Gregorian year.
I can't but that does not mean one has not occurred. Getting old sometimes brings on some memory files resisting being resurrected to life.
This is one for the books so far in my thinking. When Father wants to make a point clear, He can really pour it on.
In a fellowship meeting last Sabbath the question was asked about how the rains affect fields with heavy runoff?
A good question and most can understand that sections of a field can be washed out. That has taken place in all 3 grain growing regions.
However, there is a more worrisome result that the heavy rains create in events such as we have been experiencing the past 4 weeks. The topsoil is washed off exposing the root structure of the grain. The grain will in most cases continue to grow, but its root is exposed to the open air. That is a bad situation as it has no protection from the other elements then, let alone a big portion of its food base is gone.
During these conditions disease can set in rapidly.
It will be of great interest to see where Father is going with this intense time period.
Remember, be a good farmer and watch how the grain reacts to all of the intense meteorological conditions. No last minute Louie's allowed in the Abib Calendar witnessing responsibilities.
Our peace we give to you.
