Good Morning and a happy Sabbath to All!
We hope your task of following the grain fields from afar through the hundreds of photos of them in the Land each week is going well.
Some good questions have arisen and here are a few short answers.
In the first two pictures you will see two good photos of the first of the many red anemones to follow in the weeks ahead. So yes, they are just starting to peek out here and there as they do every solar year at this time. The intensity is governed by the amount of rain they are receiving. Once they have broken through the wild oats and wild barley they are surrounded by they will herald in the second half of winter in the Land. Not yet here, but getting there!
While we are speaking about this location in the photos notice the uniformity of growth in the wild barley and oats. This is what you will find in areas of decent soil content. And no, it has not been mowed by man or the 4 legged lawnmowers.
Also good job on noticing the recent almond blossoms emerging. This is when the early trees put out their white blossoms. In this case it is adjacent to the road which as you old timers understand presents a micro-environment. But even at that, notice the age of the wild and domestic grains around it. Where would you place them on Zadoks scale?
Some of you may recognize this area from past inspection trips. Its in the Judean foothills.
And for you old timers here is a peek at the Lonely Tree if you have not seen one of it yet. Sentimental value as well as speaking volumes to us.
Keep us posted on any more questions and of course some of your photos. Please use the email address as that insures it reaches us. We do not use Facebook venues to do so.
Our peace we give to you.
