Good Morning Folks,
We hope you are all anxiously awaiting the start of the FOT this evening.
Here is a very good article from our friends at the IMS. The Land in some locations has received the first rains of the upcoming "early rains." It is the result of a massive storm which does not want to go away in Europe. The jet stream dipped south and the northern half of the Land received some small amounts of rain. A few isolated areas got a good dose.
Does this signal the start of the Abib growing cycle?
NO!
Why not?
Because the grain is not yet planted for one. And for the volunteer barley there is not enough moisture from this small event to be absorbed into the soils at any depth and it will evaporate rather quickly.
Its all a matter of sustained amounts at this time of the year when it comes to the wild barley part of the volunteer categories. And no, none of the wild barley in the traditional goat grass areas of the Jordan Valley received any moisture from this event. Way to hot there yet. It disappears before it reaches the ground.
The grape harvest is completed for many varieties now but there are still some being harvested. Other fruits are also being harvested and are turning the corner on their harvest times.
Happy Feast ahead!
Our peace we give to you.
